DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, April 26\, 2025\, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster\, NY\n  \nThis inclusive event is open to participants of all ages and abilities\, aiming to promote autism awareness and support. Enjoy a walk\, sensory-friendly activities\, community resources\, and delicious food from local vendors. Come together with families\, friends\, and community members to raise awareness and support individuals with autism. \nWhy a Walk for Autism \n\n1 in 36 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder while 1 in 45 adults also have autism.  Autism is reported to occur in all racial\, ethnic\, and socioeconomic groups. The agency is owned by two speech-language pathologists who will be discussing speech and language milestones and red flags for children ages 0-5. Dr. Kristen Bellom-Rohrbacher will also be leading a discussion on picky eating versus true feeding concerns. \n  \nPatricia Finnerty\, MA\, OTR/L: completed her OT degree at New York University.  Patricia has been practicing OT for more than 30 years with the majority of those years working with families in Early Intervention.  Patricia is a board-certified Occupational Therapist and is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. \n  \nClare Rigano:  LMHC is the Vice President of Community Based Services at Green Chimneys and has been with the agency for over two decades. She received her Masters’ Degree in School Counseling from Hunter College and has extensive experience in providing individual\, group and family counseling. In her capacity as Vice President of Community Based Services\, Clare oversees a comprehensive spectrum of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of families and youth spanning from infancy to early adulthood. Leading a team responsible for eight distinct programs\, Clare ensures the seamless delivery of therapeutic\, preventive\, and supportive services aimed at fostering holistic well-being and resilience. \n  \nElizabeth Marzik: LCSW is a program supervisor in Community Based Services at Green Chimneys and has been with the agency for 8 years. Through her role\, she oversees four clinical programs that provide therapeutic\, preventive\, and supportive services to youth ages 5- 21 in the community. Elizabeth provides both individual and family therapy services and co-facilitates a variety of psychoeducational groups. In addition\, she is a social work field advisor with Fordham University\, Pace University\, Marist University and Sacred Heart University. Elizabeth received her Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University and has been working in the mental health field since 2016.
